Every child learns differently. Some race ahead, some need a little more time, and many younger children are simply distracted by everything happening around them. In these two short videos, our principals explain how King’s Cross Academy in USJ 9, Subang Jaya, is set up so that no child gets lost in the crowd.

A teaching method built around small groups

“When it comes to learning, younger kids often face a challenge,” says Principal Elaira Soon, “as they easily get distracted.” That is why KCA has specialised in a teaching method based on small groups. Classes never exceed 14 students, which makes it easier for teachers and staff to watch each student and observe how they work with others more closely.

In practice this means a teacher notices straight away when a child has lost focus, has misunderstood a question or is ready for a harder challenge, and can respond there and then instead of at the next test.

An inclusive classroom

Small groups also create an inclusive classroom. Structured interaction exposes students to children with different backgrounds and points of view, and teaches them to listen, share and work together, skills they will use for the rest of their lives.

Understanding each student’s needs

As educators, it is our responsibility to recognise and address the diverse learning needs of our students.

Alanis Lee, Principal

Here at King’s Cross Academy we are dedicated to understanding the unique needs of each student and providing the support and resources they need to thrive. Whatever a child needs, our team is there to support them every step of the way. As Principal Elaira Soon puts it, we’re not just educators: we’re advocates, mentors and champions for every child’s potential.

What this means for your child

  • Maximum 14 students per class, from the Primary Programme to IGCSE.
  • Teachers who know how your child learns, not just their marks.
  • A mix of classmates from different backgrounds, in a respectful, caring community.
  • Extra support or extra challenge when your child needs it.

When we work together, anything is possible. If you are looking for an IGCSE school in Subang Jaya, USJ, Puchong or Petaling Jaya where your child will be truly known, we would love to meet you.
